When people often think of an elopement in the mountains they think of Whistler, British Columbia. Why? Because we are fortunate to be surrounded by some of the most incredible mountain views.

It is integral for us all who live and visit this area to recognize that we reside on the shared unceded territory of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Lil̓wat7úl (Lil’wat) Nations. I am grateful to not only live and explore this extraordinary land but to also respectfully operate a business here. One that I share its beauty with those who travel from all over the world to experience. Whether you are local or visiting, I highly recommend learning more about the history of the Squamish Nation and Lil'wat Nation and their peoples.

Blackcomb Helicopters Tour

Blackcomb Helicopters offer several adventure tours for those looking to experience the distinguished beauty of mother nature. The perfect opportunity to combine a memorable experience with a momentous celebration. They have elopement packages for various times of the year ranging from glacier fed lakes and endless mountain vistas. Not to mention that their fleet of machines are the Rolls-Royce of helicopters. Flying with them is a luxury experience that gives you a one-of-kind perspective of the valley and a mountain top all to yourselves.

This particular flight was a sentimental journey for N&D. They didn't officially elope, but decided to commemorate their initial wedding date that got postponed due to the pandemic. Like many couples, they were planned to get married in 2020, but with the rise of COVID-19 their plans shifted.

They decided to come up to Whistler for their 2020 wedding date, get fancy and fly up to Rainbow Glacier to celebrate despite the circumstances. They shared a first dance, personal vows and a ring exchange to emphasize on their promise to one another moving forward. It was heartfelt and emotional, which allowed me to step back and simply document them enjoying the moment.

It wasn't quite a Whistler elopement in the mountains, but it did represent something very personal. These photographs will help them remember the overall experience of being on the glacier together on this day.
