This family style Pemberton wedding was the perfect celebration J & M planned during the pandemic. With so many uncertainties, they kept the faith that their under 50 guest list would allow them to get hitched amongst their closest loved ones. Long tables were set for an intimate dinner under the summer sky. Ample amounts of time to enjoy each others company was the perfect set up for candid moments and a relaxing wedding day.

One of the beautiful things about getting married up the Pemberton Meadows is that no matter where you are, you will always be surrounded by stunning mountains. Who doesn't want the openness of farmland with epic mountain peaks in the distance? Barking Frog Lodge has a gorgeous open field in the front of the property that allows you to utilize the last bit of daylight. That golden light happens to be a favourite for any wedding photographer! 

Natural Wedding Décor

Soft, elegant florals and personal details set the stage for this family style Pemberton Meadows wedding. The groom wore his grandfathers suspenders and the immediate family helped decorate the long tables before dinner. Elements of brown glass, soft cloth, eucalyptus and river rocks helped to create a warm and inviting ambience. Canoes were filled with coolers and scattered around the tables were florals designed by the talented Habitat and Cloth. All of these details suited the space to a tee, yet were simple and not over powering the beauty of the property. 

A perk of being a wedding photographer is getting to hear all the hilarious and heartfelt speeches. Anticipating laughter and unexpected tears are candid moments I strive to document during every wedding reception. The emotion shared between loved ones to me are the definitive moments that highlight any wedding story. These in-between raw photographs help my clients relive their memories over and over again.

Choosing a venue that can house your immediate family or your wedding party allows you to be in one location together to celebrate! It also helps with logistics for getting ready and first look photos while providing a unique space to photograph in. 

A Wedding Timeline Needs Space to Breathe

The most important aspect of any wedding celebration, big or small, is to prioritize being together as a couple as much as possible. A wedding day moves quickly and allowing yourselves to sneak away for a few portraits periodically is something I highly recommend to all my couples. Not only does it break up time being in front of the lens but it gives you a moment to take a breath and enjoy each other's company. Right before dinner, we snuck away under this romantic willow tree to capture a few intimate portraits while the Sun was still high.

Later in the evening as the Sun was setting, we snuck away to do a few more portraits to get that golden light. Their cute puppy followed their every move and was able to roam the property throughout the wedding day. Having a venue that makes you feel at home brings an undefinable comfort. You could see everyone's felt at ease and pure joy to witness these two marry. These backyard family style weddings are a delight to document.
