Simplicity, romance, authenticity and community. These are the words I would use to describe this incredible wedding. Alexandra and Simon embraced the West Coast weather and gathered their closest family and friends on one of my favourite sand bars in Whistler to celebrate their wedding ceremony. Good vibes were all around this wedding and I am so honoured I got to be a part of it. Here is a small piece of their story…
Emilee and Ben were celebrating their 5 year anniversary in Whistler and thought it would be a great opportunity to get their photo taken. The last time they got in front of the lens was their wedding day and this occasion was worth documenting.
Ok, I know I am a little bias, but I think it is so important to hire a professional photographer to document milestones in your life. Even if it isn’t necessarily a “milestone”, to have moments in your life captured for you to keep and reflect on later is priceless. I wish that I would have had more photos of my childhood (no offense mom and dad). Taking photos in our family growing up wasn’t of high importance. My grandfather took photos of us when we were young, but when I look back on older albums, I just wish there were more. It’s easy to forget the past, at least for me and photography really helps with that. Emilee and Ben can look back on their 20th, 40th or even 60th wedding anniversary and say “Hey, remember that time we went to Whistler before we started our family?”… well, you get the point. Photography is important!
Here are a few favourites from this amazing session with Emilee and Ben. Congrats you two!
While visiting these beautiful coastal mountains, Sarah and Michael met up with me to adventure around Pemberton for their photo session. A little rain in the beginning made everything so still and then the clouds began to clear and the sun set highlighting Mt. Currie and the valley so calmly. I truly love this place, its beauty will always amaze me.
Hiding in the bushes and being incognito for a proposal is equally exciting as it is nerve wracking. Vince and I had been emailing each other back and forth to put together something special for Joyce and his proposal. Working alongside Nita Lake Lodge and Musos Entertainment was a dream! Greg Neufeld played an acoustic set of some of Joyce and Vince’s favourite songs, while he popped the question. It was pretty epic! She said YES and it was a honour to photograph it.
Congrats you two!
