I LIVE IN THE MOUNTAINS. I GET EXCITED ABOUT FLEA MARKETS, KNIT SWEATERS, BONFIRES, LINDA MCCARTNEY, DOG WALKS, COFFEE DATES, LIVE SHOWS, EXPOSED BRICK, THE SMELL OF THE OCEAN, CHOCOLATE COVERED ANYTHING AND RECORD STORES. I ALSO HAVE OBSESSIONS WITH COLLECTING CAMERAS, COFFEE MUGS, BAGS OF ALL KINDS AND GLASS. I MAY OR MAY NOT STILL COLLECT CD’S.
When I was younger I remember my grandfather having a dark room in his basement and wondering what it was all about. I bought my first camera at the age of 15 and started assisting my neighbour who was a wedding photographer at the age of 16 changing rolls of medium format film in his cameras (without a clue of where my photography career would lead me). I moved to Europe for a short stint when I was 18 and that really was when I started to take photography seriously. I took darkroom courses and saved every penny I could to buy gear. Finally, with the amazing support of my parents, I flew across the country to study photography in Victoria, BC at the Western Academy of Photography back in 2006. At that point, I still was harvesting my passion and really only dreamed about being a professional. I then launched my business back in 2011 and have been riding an epic wave ever since.
What I can express to you is that I truly LOVE what I do. Photography has given me so many opportunities and I will always be grateful to those who allow me to document such important chapters in their lives. We all have stories that deserve to be documented, capturing moments that can be shared for generations. Say Hello, let’s make a date and meet up in person or electronically so we can chat about you, your loved ones and the stories you share.
